College/University Students

College/University Students:

University is an expensive time for students and we recognise that these aspiring professionals sometimes need some extra support.  We are proud that our past recipients have gone on to such high achievements in the fields of medicine, dentistry, journalism, education, academia, law and science.

For you to be eligible for help your parents must be graduates and/or have worked in a professional occupation requiring that level of education.  Alternatively, if you have a first degree yourself then you meet our criteria.

Our grants for students are very modest, usually in the region of £300 – £500. We advise that students should also seek additional funding.

  • We can assist you if you are a British citizen or a foreign student undertaking studies in the UK
  • We can assist you if planned funding for tuition fees and maintenance has broken down during your course, due to circumstances beyond your control
  • We can advise you how to get the statutory funding to which you are entitled
  • We can assist you in finding the right support by signposting specific educational/occupational funds on which you may have some claim by virtue of training or profession
  • We can assist you with tuition fees for the final months of your course only
  • We can assist medical, dental and veterinary students in the final two years of their course
  • We can assist with course travel expenses in some circumstances (e.g. work or research placements)
  • We can consider other related course expenses (e.g. stationery, text books, production of thesis)
  • We cannot sponsor students
  • We cannot assist with study abroad
  • We cannot assist with ordination courses
  • We cannot assist with conversion courses
